Synergistic effect of DOPO and VMDMS for flame retardancy of alkyd resins

چکیده

New polysiloxane oligomers containing phosphorus, 6-(2-(dihydroxy(methyl)silyl)ethyl)dibenzo[c,e][1,2]oxaphosphinine 6-oxide (DOPO-VMDMS), have been synthetized and grafted to the remaining hydroxyl groups of alkyd resins in order obtain hybrid with flame retardant properties. These silicone demonstrated better drying time, gloss chemical resistance than reference without DOPO-VMDMS. Moreover, thermal retardancy properties investigated using differential scanning calorimeter, thermogravimetric analysis pyrolysis-combustion flow calorimeter.
